Book Review: Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

❗️spoilers in my review❗️

Anastasia is a tightly-wound figure skater with her sights set on the Olympics on scholarship at Maple Hills. Nathan is captain of the Maple Hills hockey team just needing to make it though senior year so he can go on to fulfill his commitment to a pro hockey team in Canada. Their separate lives get messily intertwined in a hurry when someone sabotages one of the rinks at Maple Hills and the two groups are forced to share a rink. Despite her best intentions to hate Nate, it’s not long before he’s landing a triple lutz on her heart. Will these two put their egos aside for love or will it end is disaster?

This was such a fun story. I instantly loved and felt a kinship with Anastasia as a perfectionist and cold/distant. I really enjoyed the story, the 🌶️ scenes, etc all up until the end. One thing I absolutely cannot stand in romance is a surprise pregnancy and this coach had even said like hey girl be careful, this sucked for me. So that was incredibly disappointing and frustrating to read. The entire rest of this would have easily been a 5 ⭐️ read without that. I still recommend for others if that doesn’t bother them.

TW: disordered eating, bullying, violence, gaslighting

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 - 3.5/5
