Book Review: The Kind Worth Saving by Peter Swanson

Henry Kimball and Lily Kintner are back! Henry has been asked by former student, Joan, to look into an alleged affair between her husband, Richard, and his colleague, Pam. He’s always felt there was something odd about Joan, back to the days when he was her English teacher, back when a student was shot and killed in his classroom and then took their own life. But he can’t say no to her and takes the case. Things take a sinister twist when he follows Pam and Richard to an empty house listed for sale and hears gunshots ring out. Is this a case of an affair gone wrong or has he just wandered smack dab into a trap?

I really enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing and given how it ended I wasn’t sure how this one go or what it would center on but I really enjoyed this one too. I am amazed by Swanson’s ability to have me simultaneously cheering for antiheroes and hating everything about them. I truly didn’t like a single character in this book but I had zero problem devouring each page. I recommend for those who enjoy a twisted mystery.

TW: sexual assault recounts, adultery, stalking
