Book Review: The Senator’s Wife by Liv Constantine

Thank you to @netgalley, @randomhouse, & @livconstantine2 for the opportunity to read this #eARC in exchange for my #honestreview! This book is out May 23 and is available for preorder right meow!

Summary: Two years after the tragic death of her husband, Senator Robert Chase, and his cousin, Peg Montgomery, philanthropist Sloane Chase Montgomery and her new husband, Whit Montgomery are ready to move forward and make the best of their new life together. With Sloane’s lupus condition and upcoming hip surgery, she and Whit decide to hire a home health aide to help with her recovery. All seems well until, not long after the aide’s arrival, Sloane’s health seems to take a serious nosedive, leaving Sloane in serious pain and bedridden. Matters get worse when Sloane becomes paranoid and suspects the aide is making a move on Whit. Will Sloane get to the bottom of this suspicious behavior or will her prying be her undoing?

Oh my gosh, this was so rewarding! It is definitely a slow build and what starts off seeming to be superfluous background ends up paying off big time and I apologize for doubting. At one point I was so heartbroken and frustrated and thought wouldn’t it be so cool if x was actually y and our girls majorly delivered- that is actually what happened, albeit with a different path to that result (trying really hard not to give spoilers since this is an ARC!). Anyway, I really enjoyed this and highly recommend!!

TW: gaslighting, cheating, patient abuse and neglect, autoimmune disorder
