Taylor Swift Songs to the Book Counterparts - Reputation Edition

Have you ever been listening to your favorite Taylor Swift songs and wished there was a book that elicited similar vibes and emotions as the song? Look no further! I’ve combed through my reads over the last couple of years for the perfect book matchups for Taylor’s Reputation.

  1. …Ready For It? - The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes You won’t have time to ready yourself as you’re thrown right into the mystery of why (and how!) Avery inherited the fortune of a man she never knew. If you’re like me you’ll be pondering the puzzles and riddles of the book even when you’re not actually reading - just like a Swiftie decoding Taylor’s clues.

  2. End Game (feat. Ed Sheeran) - The Duke and I by Julia Quinn Going into their actual relationship, Daphne and Simon both have pretty big reputations. But one thing they do have in common is they’re crazy about each other.

  3. I Did Something Bad - The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose The killer (who isn’t unmasked until the end!) definitely did something bad - and it did, we find out later, feel so good. Go on this wild ride of a legal thriller with many red herrings that all may have wanted revenge.

  4. Don’t Blame Me - The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman Love does indeed make the Owens descendants crazy in this tale of their unlucky in love vicious cycles. The curse Maria Owens struck upon her family is definitely still in place and playing for keeps - much to the dismay of these three Owens who just want to live their lives with those they love.

  5. Delicate - The Book of Longings - Sue Monk Kidd It’s true that Ana’s reputation has never been worse when she meets Jesus, who does indeed love her for who she is. Their relationship states in a state of delicacy due to his work and the danger that surrounds who He is as well as her fear of bearing children.

  6. Look What You Made Me Do - Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney The crown for the ultimate revenge anthem goes to the ultimate revenge story. This book will leave you speechless at the end and we hope you wore a coat for how cold the main characters are!

  7. So It Goes… - The Grace Year by Kim Liggett The pieces indeed fall into place when Tierney is alone with her elusive huntsman. This book is all about hidden agendas, cloaked alliances and sacrifices all in the name of love, or something a lot like it.

  8. Gorgeous - The Dating Game by Sara Desai Daisy Patel is a software engineer that is focused on her career and doesn’t have time for love, despite mounting pressure from her family to settle down. Enter Liam, a scorned ex of hers whose re-entrance into her life may have been time by fate. As they embark on a dating plan to satisfy the standards they are each being put up to, they discover each other’s magnetic fields are perhaps a little too strong to resist. Will real sparks fly or will this plan end in disaster?

  9. Getaway Car - Mr. Nobody by Catherine Steadman A mystery man with no ID, memory, or clues to his identity is found semiconscious on the beach, after which he is transported to a hospital for care and treatment. Dr. Emma Lewis has a complicated past of her own. By the end she may find herself driving a getaway car to ensure her past stays buried.

  10. King of My Heart - Love at First Spite by Anna E. Collins Fresh off a break up, interior designer Dani Porter decides to seek the ultimate revenge on her ex by buying the plot of land adjacent to his lot to block his view. Safe to say, she’s decided she is better off alone. Enter Wyatt Montego, architect at her firm who agrees to help her with the plans for the building. Dani is forced to decide if her revenge is worth possibly losing the blooming love right in front of her.

  11. Dancing With Our Hands Tied - The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict Personal librarian to J.P. Morgan, Bell de Costa Greene becomes one of the most powerful fixtures among the New York elite through her fine tase and impeccable negotiation skills. But she is hiding a secret - she is a black woman. Despite the deep love she feels for Bernard, she knows their affair is simply dancing with their hands tied - nothing can ever truly come of it.

  12. Dress - Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood One thing that Bee Königswasser never counted on when she was selected to lead a NASA & NIH project, BLINK, was her former schoolmate and rival, Levi Ward being the co-lead. After over a week of not having the equipment or access she needs, she begins to sense that she is being sabotaged. All the while Levi continues to show up to her rescue and begins to look more and more like an ally. Will all of the pining and desperately pay off or will Bee be too stubborn to let Levi in? *Once you read this book and learn about the dress significance, you will see why this is the perfect match!

  13. This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things - Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty The Delaney family seems to be your average family who has it all together - until Savannah shows up one night asking for a place to stay. When Savannah and Joy vanish, pandemonium breaks loose as everyone rushes to figure out what happened to Joy and if she might have been murdered. This chaos and motive fits perfectly with “this is why we can’t have nice things…because you break them, I had to take them away,” mantra by Swift in this song.

  14. Call It What You Want - Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson After her success as an amateur sleuth in the first novel in this trilogy, Pip’s star and mental health is fading. To say her castle crumbled overnight would be fitting. She’s promised her parents she will hang up her podcast headphones for her health but she may have to break that promise when family friend Jamie Reynolds goes missing and the police aren’t interested in helping. Luckily, now she has Ravi this time around to love her like she’s brand new and help her from falling down the rabbit hole.

  15. New Year’s Day - The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox When Charlie Goodwin hits her head during a holiday baking competition show she loses her ability to taste and smell - kind of crucial to be able to build recipes and bake competitively. She calls in a favor from her twin sister Cass, who is back in their hometown running the family bakery. They decide to swap places until Charlie regains her taste and smell and feels up to returning to the contest. Throw in a gorgeous firefighter and a charming doctor and you’ve got yourself a recipe for disaster. Will Charlie and Case find the kind of love that can carry them through the ordinary days and give them a new vision of what to live for or will this be a holiday nightmare?
